  • A better school will enforce the cell phone ban by confiscating phones. It's quite simple, and kids who don't hand over phones get taken away, with a parent called to get them. Then the kid is in trouble with parents AND school.

  • Don't judge if you haven't taught. Limits need to be set, and the limit for a 5th grader in good health should be different from a 1st grader or a high-schooler. If the school continues to have adequate breaks, then this teacher has a good policy.

  • This is a textbook case of manslaughter. The captain truly had no intent, interest, or motivation to kill anyone, but people died as a direct result of actions over which he had control. Those poor people and their families-- death by stupidity!
